Christening cake fun

This weekend was the turn of the "In the Night Garden" christening cake (it's a kids TV program, not dissimilar to the Teletubbies). I got to test out the new adjustable square pan set that my Husband bought me for my birthday (yep, I'm THAT rock and roll). The tier sizes on this cake are 5", 7" and 9" and it meant that I could bake the 5" and 7" in the same pan at the same time. The only problem was that obviously the 5" cooked first and then I had a bit of a mission getting it out without disturbing the 7".

Enough cake-geekery, here is the finished cake...

The next cake on my agenda is a 60's themed cake. I think the design is pretty much up to me but I'm thinking gareish colours, a few retro patterns...or maybe even a tie-dyed-effect tier?!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it STOP!

So at first snow is fun, it's a bit of a novelty, then after a week or so it's just a plain inconvenience. I'm especially sick of being creeped out by the ever-watching snowmen on my neighbour's gardens when taking BobDog for his evening walk.
So when I saw these ADORABLE cookies on cakecentral (not made by me!) I had to post them here, maybe I'll have a little go at making some if I get a chance.
I have my cake-eyes set on making a 3D cake snowman though at the moment. Maybe at the weekend...
